Disney World 50th Anniversary

So we got a TON of new announcements about Disney World’s 50th anniversary. And there are a lot of exciting things coming to the big celebration. Magic Kingdom is getting a new fireworks show that will include new projections that will light up Cinderella Castle and Main Street, U.S.A.

There will be a new Character Cavalcade featuring Mickey, Minnie, and all their friends, and everyone will be decked out in brand new outfits. And 50 New Gold Statues representing Disney’s most iconic characters will be spread throughout all four parks.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be getting a new daytime show, too, called Kite Tails. It’s going to be quite the celebration!

Boo Bash Ticket Restock

This year’s Halloween event at Disney World, the After Hours Boo Bash, ran out of tickets for certain days really fast. But if you didn’t manage to get tickets on the date you wanted, you’re in luck — many tickets have been restocked for the event.

Harmonious Premiere

We’ve been following the construction of Harmonious at EPCOT for a while now, but now, we know when the new nighttime spectacular will debut: October 1st.

October 1st is also the first day of Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration, so that day — and night — are going to be huge.

New PhotoPass Policy

When Disney World reopened last year, PhotoPass photographers could no longer take photos with guests’ phones for health and safety reasons. But that policy has been changed and now you can once more hand your phone to photographers so they can snap a quick photo with it for you.

Cast Member Mask Policy Updates

Another Cast Member policy change has come to Disney World’s face coverings guidelines. This week, Disney World announced that fully vaccinated Cast Members are no longer required to wear masks when working outdoors.

We can see Cast Members smile again!

This policy changed again a few days later — now, fully vaccinated Cast Members no longer have to wear masks indoors, too.
