Why is Disney+ Releasing Everything on Wednesdays Now?!

While we usually would spend our Fridays getting ready for the debut of Marvel’s WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, things have shifted around a bit ever since Loki came on the scene!

Now, Disney+ has been debuting its most highly anticipated shows on Wednesdays. But, it looks like this change will be sticking around for the foreseeable future!

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Disney+ will stream its original series on Wednesdays instead of Fridays from now on. New episodes will debut on Wednesday mornings for all scripted, unscripted, and animated series, while original movie releases will be the big releases on Fridays instead.

While this has already been the case for Loki’s premiere, Disney+ will be putting this move in place for its other shows starting in July.

These are the new premiere dates for upcoming shows that you can expect on Disney+:

As Disney plans to release big movies over the course of the next few weeks — including Luca and Black Widow — it makes sense that the streaming service wouldn’t want to take away from their thunderous debuts with new episodes of shows.
