NEWS: Disney World Updates Face Mask Policy for Theaters

As time continues to pass, more and more seems to be returning to normal in Disney World when it comes to health and safety measures.

Last month, one of the biggest updates from Disney was that they would no longer require face masks to be worn in outdoor areas in the parks and resorts. That policy is still in effect today, but we noticed that there was a slight adjustment to where face masks are required in the parks.

Disney updated its website with a new graphic that narrows down which theaters guests are required to wear face masks in, stating that they are required in “All indoor theaters, including theater entrances.”

This is a slight change from the previous policy which required face masks in “All theaters, including theater entrances.”

This update means that guests would not be required to wear face masks when viewing shows in outdoor theaters such as Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, at this time, the outdoor theater is not open.

Over at Universal Orlando, the face mask policy was updated last month to no longer require fully vaccinated guests to wear masks both indoors and outdoors, however, Disney has not made the same change.
