Things have been pretty busy at Disney World recently — park pass reservations have been filling up quickly lately!

Disney World is also continuing to raise capacity and has already started to relax certain health and safety guidelines at the parks, including those involving masks and social distancing. In the meantime, though, FastPass+ has still not returned, and all lines for rides are still standby, except for Rise of the Resistance, which has a virtual queue system in place.
So how does all this impact wait times at the parks? We spent some time standing in line today at Magic Kingdom to see how Disney World’s posted wait times compared to our actual wait times.
Over at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, the posted wait time was 60 minutes. We found that to be fairly accurate because we waited a total of 56 minutes before we got to join the dwarfs on their mining adventure.

Peter Pan’s Flight is one of those slow-loading attractions that has notoriously long wait times, even when the parks aren’t busy. Today’s posted wait time was 40 minutes, but we were soaring over the skies of London and Neverland in 30 minutes flat.

It was a hot Florida day and getting splashed sounded like a good idea, so we headed over to Splash Mountain where the posted wait time was 60 minutes. However, we spent 90 minutes in line!

However, over at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the posted wait time was only 15 minutes. And we practically walked onto the train with a wait time that was only 6 minutes.

Yo ho, yo ho! Pirates of the Caribbean had a posted wait time of 25 minutes, but we ended up waiting a little longer to go on our cruise with the scalawags and ne’er-do-wells of the attraction — but only by a few minutes. Our actual wait time was 27 minutes.

Overall, we mostly saw our actual wait times come in under what was posted, with the big exception being our time on Splash Mountain. So while wait times might not be drastically shorter than what was posted, it’s worth keeping in mind that you will likely be waiting less time than what is posted for rides right now.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on wait times at Disney World, so stay tuned for updates.
