PHOTOS! Dinner is Served For the First Time in Over a Year at Chef Mickey’s in Disney World

Chef Mickey’s has gone through several updates at Disney’s Contemporary Resort since Disney World’s phased reopening began last summer. The popular character dining location reopened without characters back in July of 2020, with their breakfast service offered at a lower price point.

Mickey and the gang rejoined the restaurant with modified character dining in December of 2020, but breakfast was STILL the only meal being served.

Starting today, guests can now dine for breakfast AND dinner at Chef Mickey’s! Characters will be around for both meals in a modified setting, meaning that at this time, they will not approach individual tables for photos or autographs.

Chef Mickey’s

We stopped by Chef Mickey’s for dinner, and here’s what it’s like!

Menu

We got a first look at Chef Mickey’s dinner menu! Although Chef Mickey’s is no longer a buffet, it is still all-you-care-to-eat and you can ask for more of anything you’d like. Guests ages 9 and under cost $36, and guests ages 10 and over cost $55.

Characters

The characters that we’ve seen at Chef Mickey’s breakfast were at dinner as well! We saw Mickey Mouse of course…

…Donald Duck interacting with guests from a distance…

…Pluto saying hello…

The characters still do NOT come up to your table to greet each party individually, but they do walk around the restaurant.

Near the Magical Dinner Cocktail menu, there are some model drinks for you to check out before you order a drink!

Rather than have a typical buffet, your server will bring you each course. They have individual servings ready to go where the buffet would usually be.

Dinner

Here is a centerpiece full of dessert platters!

Dessert!

We started our first course with some rolls and a salad.

Rolls

On the menu, you’ll find Chef Mickey’s Caesar, a Seasonal Composed Plant-based Salad, and Citrus-poached Baby Shrimp, Creamy Cilantro-Lime Broccoli Slaw, Greens, Avocado, & Tomato.

First Course

We then tried a bunch of the entrees and sides! Our favorites were the Prime Rib, the Potato Gnocchi, and the Gratin Potatoes.

Entrees

Then our server brought us one of those dessert platters with 4 different treats! In order of deliciousness, we had the Strawberry Cream Cake, the Apple Crumble Tart, the Mickey Mousse Dome, and the Chocolate Chip Cookies.

What’s for dessert?

Oh, boy! We’re sure glad there’s another dining option for guests, especially for dinner following a day in Magic Kingdom! Be sure to keep following along as we cover more locations reopening around Disney World!
