Disney World has officially been reopened for 2+ years after closing at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the time since, a lot of things have slowly but surely returned, including resort hotels, restaurants, attractions, and even a few shows (like Festival of the Lion King).

But over two year later, we’re still waiting on a number of locations around the parks and resorts to reopen! Here’s a rundown of the major attractions, restaurants, hotels, and more that have yet to reopen.
Restaurants
EPCOT
Starting off in EPCOT, a number of restaurants in World Showcase are still closed. These include Monsieur Paul in the France Pavilion, Takumi-Tei in the Japan Pavilion, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion, and Restaurant Marrakesh in the Morocco Pavilion.

Disney hasn’t made any announcements on when these spots may reopen in the future.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
All table service spots at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and most of the Quick Service restaurants have reopened, but one still remains.

Neighborhood Bakery has not welcomed guests back just yet.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
As of this writing, only one location remains to reopen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom — Caravan Road.

Plus, Restaurantosaurus Burgers & Sundaes has also remained closed, though the regular side of Restaurantosaurus is open.
Resorts
And, there are still some closures impacting the Disney Resorts too! Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Victoria & Albert’s and 1900 Park Fare are still closed as of this writing.

And, Disney’s Boardwalk has numerous dining locations, but if you’re hoping to eat at ESPN Club or Flying Fish, you’re out of luck right now. They’re still closed.

Rides and Attractions
Magic Kingdom
Just one ride at Magic Kingdom is unavailable right now — the Walt Disney World Railroad, which is closed due to construction on the TRON Lightcycle Run.

Select shows are also unavailable, like Enchanted Tales With Belle in Fantasyland.
EPCOT
At EPCOT, select experiences outside of certain attractions, like the Advanced Training Lab and Project Tomorrow are currently unavailable.

Though most of the other entertainment has returned.
Shows and Entertainment
Magic Kingdom
Everything from the Castle Show to parades, to meet-and-greets where you can actually HUG the characters have returned to Magic Kingdom. And, while we’re certainly nearing the park experience being “normal,” there are still a few things that are unavailable.

As of this writing, meet and greets with Ariel, Tinkerbell, Daisy Duck, Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Gaston, Peter Pan, Rapunzel, Winnie the Pooh, and more have not yet returned. You can learn more about what characters have returned here.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Fantasmic!, Hollywood Studios’ major nighttime show, is unavailable right now and the fireworks show, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular does not have a reopening date just yet. However, the Wonderful World of Animation nighttime show (which is a projection show on the Chinese Theater) is back in the park as of August 1st.

Hollywood Studios is known for its stage shows, like Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. However, Voyage of the Little Mermaid still remains closed with no reopening date.

Meet and greets with BB-8, the Incredibles, Woody, Buzz, are also unavailable.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Festival of the Lion King is back at Animal Kingdom in a modified state, but other shows like Finding Nemo the Musical (which will reopen on June 13th as a completely reimagined show) are not running right now.

Unavailable meet and greets at Animal Kingdom include those at Donald’s Dino-Bash! (like Donald, Daisy, and Launchpad McQuack), Pocahontas, Russel and Dug from Up, and Timon and Rafiki are also not happening as of this writing. You can still see some of these characters in the flotillas at the park!

It may sound like a lot is unavailable, but Disney has made up for some of these experiences via cavalcades, new entertainment options, new dining options, and other modified experiences. As things reopen and return to “normal,” we’ll be sure to fill you in on the latest information so you can plan accordingly for your next vacation!

Any word on Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? I have a three year old that wants her princess makeover this September
Hi Harry, no word yet on it but we will update as soon as there is! Currently, the Four Seasons at Disney World is offering a princess makeover, which is not the same experience but the closest we’ve seen thus far 🙂
Can someone explain to me the Indiana Jones stunt show not being reopened? I mean… it’s outdoor and they could do staggered seating. It would seem to be a better candidate to return than the Lion King show (which is obviously vastly more popular, admittedly). How has Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor (I refuse to abbreviate it) and Turtle Talk stayed closed but Tough to be a Bug has been open? I’m not so much criticizing these decisions as genuinely curious why some of these shows had been back and why some, like the Indiana Jones one, haven’t? Maybe a good video idea?
I hope all of these return soon!!!!! I miss them all so much!!!!!!!????????????Please come baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!
