Have you ever wondered what it took to imagine and build an immersive land like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? We sure have!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

That’s why we’re getting an early jump start to our summer reading list this year with The Art of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

The book, written by Amy Ratcliffe and with a forward by Imagineer Scott Trowbridge, offers readers insights into the making of Galaxy’s Edge at both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Park.

Rise of the Resistance

But what’s REALLY neat about this book is that it sheds some light into some of the original plans for the land that were ultimately scrapped! When Bob Iger charged Imagineers to “Be ambitious” with creating Galaxy’s Edge, Ratcliffe shared to Orlando Sentinel that, “They went huge. They really blue-skyed…Of course, that’s something Imagineering does, regardless of their project.”

So, not every idea or dream will make it into the final product, like animatronic bartenders at Oga’s Cantina, a Table Service restaurant called Kalikori Club, and a roaming creature named Elee that guests could actually ride! This is definitely a true insider’s look to the ways Imagineers envision what a new land in a Disney park can look.

This book comes oversized with over 300 images, making it the perfect addition to your coffee table this year! The book officially launches next week on April 27th.
