How Many of These Underrated Disney World Restaurants Have You Visited?

One of the most important things to think about when you’re planning a vacation: where are you going to eat?

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop

There are hundreds of restaurant choices at Walt Disney World, so it can be incredibly difficult to make a decision with so many options! And while there are several super-popular restaurants that tons of people will recommend to you, today we’re sharing some of our favorite underrated places to dine!

Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom

If you’re looking for adventurous eats in the heart of the jungle, then Skipper Canteen is the place to be. Here, your food is served with a side of corny humor, as the same skippers who guide you on Jungle Cruise will be waiting on your table!

Skipper Canteen is one of the finest dining options for Jungle Cruise travelers!

The meals at Skipper Canteen are different than what you find at many Disney restaurants, and you’ll get the chance to branch out of your comfort zone with dishes like falafel, curried vegetables, and siu pork (or you can stick with classics like steak and fried chicken). The theming in this place is also excellent, with touches that the deep Disney fans are sure to appreciate!

Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom

On the other hand, if you want some good old-fashioned, straightforward American food, then head on over to Liberty Square to dine at Liberty Tree Tavern. Here, you’ll find a traditional Thanksgiving feast!

Liberty Tree Tavern is great when you want classic American food!

While the family-style menu may seem simple with options like turkey breast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and mac and cheese, we’ve had pretty great experiences at this restaurant! There’s nothing quite like comfort food, and we often find that a meal at Liberty Tree Tavern just really hits the spot.

Spice Road Table in EPCOT

Jumping over to EPCOT, we’re going to head to the Morocco Pavilion for this exotic meal! Here, you’ll find a variety of small plates to enjoy in a lovely outdoor seating area with a great view of the World Showcase.

Pick a table with a view!

The Mediterranean-inspired menu features nearly a dozen different choices, ranging from Fried Calamari to Grilled Lamb Kefta to Hummus Fries. We’re big fans of stopping here for a shareable snack, whether it’s the midday break or the end of the night!

ABC Commissary in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Listen, we used to think ABC Commissary was just so-so…UNTIL they changed up their menu. Now, this place is bangin’ with great entrees and unique choices that you don’t often see at Disney World’s Quick Service spots.

ABC Commissary has definitely upped its game!

These days, ABC Commissary is home to slam dunks like Pork CarnitasTacos, Shrimp Tacos, and the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich. We were pleasantly surprised to find such creative options at a restaurant themed to look like a cafeteria, but we’re definitely not complaining. Don’t just take our word for it — on your next trip, give it a try!

BaseLine Tap House in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

While BaseLine Tap House may not have a large variety of food options (they’ve got plenty of drinks), the few that they do have are holding down the fort and earning the restaurant a spot on our list!

Would ya just look at that beautiful charcuterie board?!

We LOVE (like, seriously love) their Charcuterie Board, and we truly appreciate the Bavarian Pretzel with Beer Cheese Fondue and Spicy Mustard. And for beer enthusiasts and aficionados, there are a variety of beverage choices — you can even create your own flight! Plus, the location of this restaurant offers a great vantage point for people-watching in Hollywood Studios.

Nomad Lounge in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

One of our favorite places to chill out in all of Disney World is Nomad Lounge in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This little-known spot is connected to Tiffins and offers small plates and a good selection of drinks.

One of the best places to relax in Animal Kingdom!

The food here is simply exquisite (yeah, we used a fancy word!) and we highly recommend stopping by just to try out the spectacular churros. Also, if you sit on the patio, the view can’t be beaten — you’ll get to watch the bridge to Pandora and the characters floating down the waterways!

Yak & Yeti in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Another one of our favorites in Animal Kingdom that doesn’t get enough credit is Yak & Yeti over in Asia. Here you’ll find (you guessed it!) Asian food — but it’s definitely a cut above what we’ve tasted elsewhere in the parks.

Shrimp and steak and rice, oh my!

Their menu has a TON of choices, with options for those who want to step out of their comfort zones and options for those who aren’t as adventurous. On top of that, the restaurant has some very cool theming and it’s usually not too hard to get a reservation.

Olivia’s Café at Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Have you ever wondered why some people go out of their way to travel to a different resort and eat a meal during their Disney vacation? Well, the reason is that some resort restaurants are simply worth it!

Olivia’s Café is charming AND delicious.

Take Olivia’s Café at Old Key West for instance. This place is often known as having some of the best fried chicken in all of Walt Disney World, but you’d never know that unless you booked a reservation to check it out. And, if you’re heading over there anyway, make sure to take some time to explore the charming resort!

Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort

Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort is pretty well-known, but we still don’t think that it gets the attention it deserves! Here, you can dine with Mickey and friends in the morning and enjoy spectacular Italian cuisine in the evening.

Topolino’s Terrace

We consider this to be some of the best food we’ve ever had at a character meal, so if you’re looking for one that’s worth your time, then check this out! But, we’ll warn you that the Riviera Resort is absolutely stunning, and you’ll probably want to stay there after you venture over there for this meal.

Frontera Cocina in Disney Springs

And of course, we can’t talk about amazing food without including some places at Disney Springs! Frontera Cocina is often overlooked, but we certainly don’t understand why — this restaurant is SO GOOD.

Frontera Cocina in Disney Springs

If you’re craving some fancy Mexican food, then you definitely need to make a stop here. It’s run by six-time James Beard Award-winning chef Rick Bayless…need we say more?

Raglan Road in Disney Springs

The last spot on our list is also located in Disney Springs, and it’s a great choice for good entertainment and great food! Raglan Road brings fun touches of Ireland straight to Central Florida.

Raglan Road

Whether you’re there for the fish and chips or the live performers, you’re sure to have a great time at Raglan Road (especially if you’re stopping by for St. Patrick’s Day!).

  1. Of the restaurants listed, I have only eaten at Raglan. It was very good and I loved the entertainment there as well.
