Disney Cruise Line is Looking for New Character Performers!

It’s been a whole year since the Disney Cruise Line last welcomed guests, and the ships have now canceled select sailings through August this year.

As Disney looks forward to possibly resuming operations later this year, it seems that the cruise line is already planning its entertainment aboard the ships.

Earlier this week, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek stated that they are, “very anxious to get [their] Disney Cruise Line business back up and running,” as they hope to open the cruises with limited operations in the Fall. And, now, the cruise line is looking to hire character performers!

Disney’s audition page has shared a posting, accepting photo submissions for Disney Character Look-Alike Performers for the Disney Cruise Line! The characters included are Mulan, Jasmine, and Moana! Along with physical requirements like certain ranges of height and build, Disney states that their performers should be able to “demonstrate high-energy character animation levels, full range of body movement, and imaginative improvisation techniques.”

Under this Disney Cruise Line contract, character performers will receive competitive pay, travel, room and board, and a significant contract completion bonus. In the parks, the character performers have been distanced from guests without face masks. While the CDC has already stated that guests will be required to wear face masks on cruise ships when they open, we’re not sure what the protocol will be for the character performers.
