Does Full Capacity in Disney World Really Look This…Empty?

Spring break is here, and that means it’s time for those spring break crowds to arrive in Disney World!

Disney is bracing themselves for a busy week ahead, but the crowds were already noticeable this week as we visited the parks. With those at-capacity days already upon us, we were expected huge crowds on today’s visit.

Once we arrived and started walking around Disney’s Animal Kingdom, however, we were totally surprised at how relatively quiet it seemed!

Plenty of elbow room around the Tree of Life!

There were plenty of extended queues to allow for physical distancing, but the lines were constantly moving! Other areas of the park, however, seemed to be completely deserted and we were the only guest in sight!

Not a single guest in sight!

Even when we did encounter “crowds,” they were much more manageable than what we saw earlier this week, and what we expect to see next week.

If this is the “quiet before the storm,” we’ll take it!

Lots of empty space in Africa!

We briefly popped over to Magic Kingdom today as well where we also felt a lack of crowds.

Plenty of open space in Magic Kingdom today!

Over at EPCOT, we also discovered plenty of extra space around us!

In general, as we moved across the theme parks today, we noticed small clusters of people more than we noticed massive wall-to-wall crowds.

Mexico Pavilion is one of EPCOT’s worst pinch points when it comes to crowding

That doesn’t mean nobody was in the parks today! We definitely noticed some crowds and longer lines.

We’ll be snapping more photos over the next week as we visit the parks during spring break, so be sure to follow along!
