When it comes to Disney World’s flagship theme park, Magic Kingdom is full of some of the most popular rides, attractions, restaurants, and entertainment you’ll find across the resort!
While we can all agree that Space Mountain and Dole Whips are must-do components of any trip to Magic Kingdom, there are plenty of underrated aspects in each land of the park!
So today, we thought we would go land-by-land and discuss some of the incredible details, attractions, and more that you may be missing out on!
Main Street, U.S.A.
Is it too soon to list “all of the above” when it comes to underrated parts of a Magic Kingdom land? Guests are often so excited to get to all the popular rides and attractions, they’ll sometimes forget that Main Street, U.S.A., IS a land in Magic Kingdom!
This land is often “skipped” because it doesn’t feature any headliner attractions, but next time you visit Magic Kingdom, we recommend you “stop and smell the roses” along Main Street!
Adventureland
Adventureland is home to Pirates of the Caribbean, but today we’re throwing some love over to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room! Not only is the Tiki Room a much-needed air conditioned oasis on those hot Florida days, but it’s full of history! The attraction first opened in Disneyland in 1963 and was the first to feature audio-animatronic technology.
Adventureland is also where you can find the iconic Dole Whip frozen treat in Magic Kingdom. Dole Whip is the stuff of legends, but did you know you can order other flavors, too? Before you order another classic Pineapple Dole Whip, give the Citrus Swirl a try! You can find this frozen treat at Sunshine Tree Terrace.
Frontierland
Frontierland is where you’ll find two of the most popular rides in Magic Kingdom: Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. But tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the park is Tom Sawyer Island. Just a quick raft ride away, Tom Sawyer Island is often noticeably quieter if you’re looking for a little respite.
Liberty Square
Liberty Square, like Main Street, U.S.A., is another one of those “everything is underrated” lands! Sure, Liberty Square is where you’ll find the fan-favorite Haunted Mansion, but you’re missing out on a lot if all you’re doing here is that one ride! Liberty Square is filled with Easter Eggs, including the lobby of the Hall of Presidents, where you can check out authentic artifacts dating back to the 1700’s.
Liberty Square is where you’ll also find the Liberty Square Riverboat! Take a twenty minute leisurely trip around the Rivers of America, featuring great views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad as well as Haunted Mansion.
Fantasyland
Fantasyland is filled with some of Magic Kingdom’s most popular attractions, including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight! But it’s also home to Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, one of the more underrated rides in the park! Originally built in 1917, the attraction includes 90 horses!
When it comes to dining, Fantasyland is home to the hottest ticket in town: Be Our Guest Restaurant. But there are some great Quick Service dining options here, too! And we aren’t just talking about Gaston’s Tavern and their delicious Cinnamon Rolls. Order up some loaded tots from Friar’s Nook, or indulge on a Cheshire Cat Tail at Cheshire Cafe.
Tomorrowland
Last but certainly not least is Tomorrowland! We think you’ll be able to guess at least one of the two things that we think are underrated in this land. Yup, we’re once again singing the praises of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover!
Tomorrowland is also where you’ll find the Carousel of Progress! Another totally underrated attraction, the Carousel of Progress is one of the few remaining aspects of Magic Kingdom directly related to Walt Disney himself!

We were there in December. I missed some of my favorites. People Mover was being refurbished and the Carousel had a really long line. I am ready to go back not think I’ll wait on no mask!
We got stuck in the last room (the future) on Carousel of Progress because of either a severe storm causing power issues or people trying to get up out of their seat and exit the attraction. We had to watch the last scene from start to finish FOUR TIMES! We are now reminded of that each time the Disney commercial with “There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow…” song is playing.
You hit on most of mine (People Mover and Carousel of Progress). I think people forget to take a walk through Swiss Family Tree house or taking the side winding trail from Liberty Square up to the castle. Some beautiful views and nice places to stop and rest. Another favorite walk is the wooden walkway along the Rivers of America. There is just something magical about it for me.
