Stop Skipping One of the Best Parts of Disney World

You may have visited all four of Disney World’s theme parks, but have you ever been to one of the water parks?

Miss Tilly at Typhoon Lagoon

Disney World is home to two water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. They’re a great place to spend an extra day on your vacation, and today, we’re sharing our favorite things about them — giving you all the reasons why you need to stop by!

Blizzard Beach

Designed to look like a ski resort built after a freak winter storm that melted in the Florida sun, you’ll find all kinds of fun slides and big thrills here! It’s the larger of the two water parks and features more than 17 slides, a wave pool, an area for pre-teens, and an area for little ones.

Blizzard Beach

Blizzard Beach is located on Disney World property between Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, close to the All-Star and Coronado Springs Resorts. You can travel there by Disney bus, or you can drive!

Typhoon Lagoon

If you’re looking for something a bit more “beachy,” then head over to Typhoon Lagoon, the older of the two water parks! It’s themed to a tropical paradise that survived a typhoon, and you’ll even find a shipwreck while exploring the park.

Typhoon Lagoon

Around Typhoon Lagoon, you’ll find slides, pools, a lazy river, and one of the largest wave pools in the world. This park truly transports you to tropical paradise — the perfect way to relax on a vacation!

Why Should I Visit the Water Parks?

Disney’s two water parks have much more intricate theming than normal water parks. It’s the perfect combination of Disney Imagineering meets a day at the pool.

Castaway Creek

Visiting Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon could be a great way to enjoy a park day while still getting the chance to relax. You won’t be running around as intensely as you would at one of Disney’s theme parks, but you’ll still be able to get a lot of attractions accomplished. And, you’ll be able to beat the Florida heat while doing it!

Blizzard Beach

On top of that, the Disney water parks are cheaper to visit than the theme parks. You’ll be able to get a day ticket to visit Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon for less than you would pay to visit Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, or Animal Kingdom for an extra day.

What Can I Do at the Water Parks?

So many things! No matter which kind of water attraction is your favorite, they’ve got it at one of Disney’s water parks: lazy rivers, wave pools, raft rides, and slides both big and small.
