NEWS: Disney World Is Emailing Guests About Crowding and Mobile Checkout in EPCOT

We’ve seen many changes across Disney World that affect guests’ experiences, including distancing measures, park capacities, plexiglass barriers, and more.

As these changes continue to be made, Disney is looking to understand guests’ thoughts and opinions about them. Following our most recent trip to EPCOT, we received a questionnaire asking for our input about our experiences in the park.

Disney World has been using the Park Pass Reservation System since its reopening, meaning guests must reserve a spot at the park they want to visit on a certain day. Sometimes reservations for your first choice can be full, and you’ll have to choose another park. The EPCOT survey asked if it was their primary choice to visit.

EPCOT Survey

We’ve seen varying crowds heading to Disney World since the parks reopened. In the weeks surrounding the holidays, we had some experiences where crowds swelled significantly. Even with the distancing and capacity measures in place, Disney wanted to know guests’ opinions on the crowds.

The survey also sought to measure how difficult the congestion in certain sections of the park made it to get to restaurants, attractions, and more in a timely manner.

Another topic Disney was interested in is the new Mobile Checkout procedures that have been implemented in certain stores in the park. It allows guests to purchase merchandise in-store via the My Disney Experience App to avoid having to wait in line. Since this checkout method is still pretty new, Disney wanted to know if the process was easy to understand and quicker than checking out at a regular register.

The survey also asked where guests first heard about Mobile Checkout.

Plus, Disney wanted to know how guests’ shopping experiences were affected by the new feature.

Depending on how guests answered the previous question, they were further prompted to respond with the reasons for their feelings about the Mobile Checkout feature.

Each Disney World park has its own perks, and EPCOT has its own unique flair that draws guests inside! While each person may have their own specific reason they want to visit EPCOT, Disney was curious about what the most important parts of the park were to guests.

…and character cavalcades or processions. Disney has halted a lot of the previous entertainment that we’ve seen in the parks with many live shows and character meet-and-greets being paused for the time being. However, the questionnaire might help give Disney more information about which experiences guests would like to see back in the parks soon!

  1. I am visiting WDW in late March. Since when has Disney ever cared about what people think about lines and congestion? BC (before Covid) the lines at Pandora were 4 hours long. People are paying $100+ to go into a park where lines for 1 ride are 4 hours. How do you feel about that? Never got surveyed about it. What I would like to see would be a survey that says :”We recognize people don’t like some of the changes we have made. To alleviate some of the frustration, which would be a solution that would make your visit more enjoyable?” and list a few choices. My experience in life is that people like to have a say in what impacts them. Even if it isn’t an ideal solution.

  2. I received a similar survey request about Magic Kingdom after visiting in December. We also went to Hollywood Studios and Epcot but the survey was MK specific.

  3. The construction in future world the way it bisects the park made it very unenjoyable. Was our second of four Park visits and while we finally got used to the mobile ordering it was maddening to get a little snack anywhere without having to wait in a humongous line while passing closed kiosks left and right everywhere. the lack of characters and live performances made the place practically lifeless. it wasn’t all bad and we enjoyed our other Park visits tremendously but Epcot lot of work to do before I will go back.
