More Cast Members Are Reportedly Being Called Back as Disney World Sees an Increase in Guests

Last month, Disney announced that it had increased capacity at Disney World from 25% to 35%.

And over the past few months, it has appeared that more and more guests have returned to the parks, particularly during the holiday season.

According to Fox 35 Orlando, the increase in guests returning to the parks has resulted in more Cast Members returning to their jobs at the parks. Local Unite Here 737 union President Jeremy Haicken, said, “People have been recalled steadily since the summer. Business is picking up. Which is good and people are staying safe.”

Back in mid-November, the Walt Disney Company Quarter 4 Earnings report revealed that the week of Thanksgiving was already booked at almost 100% capacity. And as guests have continued to flock back to Disney World, we’re also seeing plans to get more hotels and restaurants reopened, too.

However, around 6,000 cast members who work in housekeeping and food and beverage services are still unemployed. Disney previously announced that 32,000 Disney World cast members as a whole would be let go.
