VIDEO: You Could See a COVID-Fighting Robot On Your Next Trip to the Airport

Healthcare innovators and travel industries have been developing several methods of dealing with the global health crisis.

A major concern, especially for travel businesses, is making sure spaces are safe and customers feel safe in them. Now, the airport in Key West, Florida is taking a pretty big stride in the effort to do so.

According to CNBC, a COVID-fighting robot is set to patrol Key West’s airport, using ultraviolet UVC light to kill germs in the air and on services. Yup, including COVID-19.

This airport is one of the first in the country to implement a disinfection robot of this kind. You can see it in action right here!

The director of airports for the Keys’ Monro County Airport, Richard Strickland, noted, “Passengers should know that, as they travel to Key West International Airport and utilize the facilities here, that we’ve made every effort possible against COVID to protect passengers’ safety.”
