NEWS: Hulu’s Brand New Slate of Shows Is STAR-STUDDED!

Disney’s virtual presentation for Investors Day focused pretty heavily on streaming platforms and media tonight.

We got a lot of news about Disney+, including the fact that they now have 86 million subscribers and they’ll be instituting a price increase soon. We also got a lot of information about the onslaught of titles that are arriving on the platform in the future. However, not all of the presentation was focused on Disney+, because we got a few updates on other Disney-owned streaming services as well!

During today’s presentation, the Chairman of Entertainment for Walt Disney Television, Dana Walden, shared that there will be several new shows coming to the Hulu and Star streaming platforms in the future. The first of these shows, titled Only Murders in the Building, will star Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.

The next series announced for the two services is titled The Dropout and will feature Kate McKinnon as Elizabeth Holmes, the legendary entrepreneur who took Silicon Valley and the healthcare world by storm and subsequently lost everything in one of technology’s biggest scandals.

Dopesick will be an emotional drama series starring Michael Keaton, Rosario Dawson, and Peter Sarsgaard. It will focus on America’s opioid crisis and the complications that come along with it.

Finally, Nine Perfect Strangers is a thriller starring Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, and Regina Hall. This story shares an author with the Big Little Lies book.
