NEWS! Disney CFO Christine McCarthy Extends Contract with Disney Until 2022

Christine McCarthy has been Chief Financial Officer for The Walt Disney Company since 2015 and treasurer for 15 years before that.

McCarthy’s contract was set to end on June 30th, 2021. She has now signed a contract extending her position as Executive Vice President and CFO through 2022. 

Disney CEO Bob Chapek made a statement to the Hollywood Reporter regarding McCarthy’s extension. “The company and its shareholders will greatly benefit from Christine’s continued leadership and experience as we accelerate our direct-to-consumer strategy and continue to navigate through the unique challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are thrilled that she has agreed to extend her tenure.”

McCarthy is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial earnings and budgets. She is the executive handed the task of handling the losses and gains that the company has faced during the global health crisis. The extension will allow her to tackle more financial adjustments while events unfold.
