Boseman lost a battle with colon cancer earlier this year at the age of 43. Fans mourned the loss of the great actor and co-stars spoke words of admiration for the person behind the screen. Entertainment Weekly is honoring Chadwick Boseman as one of the Greatest Entertainers of the Year.

Author Angie Thomas wrote a tribute to his legacy and esteemed character. She noted that when Boseman invested himself in a role “he was dedicated to the craft of portraying each person.” She continues that her favorite thing about watching him work was that “you could see bits of him in every character that he played. You could see his loving, his kindness, his gentleness, his intelligence in every role — everything that’s good about him.”

The impact of Chadwick Boseman has been substantial for fans of his work and his loved ones. Thomas finished her tribute with, “The hardest part of his death is we’re not going to get any more Chadwick Boseman films. We’re not going to get to see him craft these love letters to us on screen.” We’re grateful for the work that Boseman has created on-screen and for the community.
