Man Faces Charges After Bringing BB Gun to Disney World

An 18-year-old man is being charged after bringing a BB gun to Disney World.

According to ClickOrlando.com, the man attempted to enter Disney Springs on Friday with a Glock 19 replica BB gun.

Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies said Nathaniel Godfrey Smith set off metal detectors at the shopping area’s security screening area. According to records about the event, Disney security personnel contacted a deputy because they believed he had a concealed weapon. When questioned, Smith presented a badge and told security he was a Georgia DEA agent.

According to the report, the man couldn’t verify his identity and deputies later discovered that the badge was fake. Smith now faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon, impersonating an officer, and unlawful display of a law enforcement badge.

Disney Springs recently updated its security measures so that guests have to go through a security screening after receiving a temperature check from both parking garages that lead to the shopping area.
