Pattern and Repetition at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

To make images more interesting and creative, look for patterns and repetition in the world around you. This is what I did on a recent visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Ever notice the bamboo groves when riding on one of the Kilimanjaro Safari safari jeeps? Zooming in on a stand of bamboo shows patterns of greens and grays.

Later on the ride, I found patterns on a Bongo (Tragelaphus eurycerus) with its striking black and white markings. These patterns help the Bongo blend into the vegetation of their environment in the park and wild.

Repetition can be found in many places. Merchandise in a store like the Mombasa Marketplace shop in Africa is often carefully positioned and colorfully on display.
