It seems there is some kind of change happening at Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort.
The Swan and Dolphin Resort recently stopped using Disney buses for park transportation and instead switched to a third-party company, Mears Motor Coaches.
For guests, this doesn’t mean too many changes: Mears buses will pick up and drop-off guests in the same areas at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. However, things will be a little different for guests traveling from the resort to Magic Kingdom.
Because Mears motor coaches are not official Disney buses, they fall under the category of taxis and chartered buses. This means they can no longer drop guests off near the gate of Magic Kingdom. Instead, they have to take guests to the Ticket and Transportation Center.
Swan and Dolphin guests will also have to go to the Ticket and Transportation Center from the Magic Kingdom to return to their hotel. The designated location for pick-up and drop-off at the Ticket and Transportation is spots C3 and C4.
The buses will run about an hour before parks open to an hour after they close. During the busy times around opening and closing, they will try to run every 10-15 minutes. During the slower part of the day, though, they will try to run every 30 minutes.
When we spoke to Guest Services, we were told it isn’t certain whether this change is temporary or permanent. But we’ll keep you updated as we learn more!

When we went in December the pick up from Disney Springs was in a dimly lit area of the parking lot close to the Cirque de Soleil theater. Timing for pick up is not consistent, area does not look safe since it is far from where people are. I would rather catch the bus back to the Boardwalk and then walk the short distance back to my hotel versus waiting in this area for the Mears bus. Also, there was little to no precautions on the Mears busses versus the Disney busses so they don’t make you feel as safe. I wish that the Swan/Dolphin would use the Disney transportation again or that Disney would give them a bus berth where the rest of the hotel busses pick up and drop off.
It was an unwelcome surprise to me when I went to MK in 10/14 and was dropped off at TTC. Thought something was odd when got on a the bus With every seat filled and no social distancing barriers were up. Had gone to MK on 10/9 and was brought by Disney bus on that date.
We were there yesterday. We went to AK and they parked in a different spot and we were not even told where to come back for pick up. It seemed like the first day because the driver didn’t even know all the rules. Also are Disney Springs they drop off and pick up down by Cirque de Soleil theater and we were told pick up was every 30 mins. There was no info by Swan and Dolphin of these changes.
Does this mean that when traveling to Beach Club, Y.Club and Boardwalk the buses will no longer detour to the S&D? That will be a nice change.
