While this year has been difficult for all theme parks, California theme parks still haven’t reopened since COVID-19 shut down their operations earlier this year. This has led to California parks canceling their seasonal events, such as Disney California Adventure’s Oogie Boogie Bash and Universal Studios Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights.
But even though California theme parks still can’t reopen just yet, SeaWorld San Diego is still finding ways to get spooky!
While SeaWorld’s rides are to remain closed at this time, San Diego County Officials have allowed SeaWorld San Diego to reopen their zoo exhibits, aquariums, and stadium shows while requiring masks, enhanced sanitation, a reservation system, and other measures that we’ve come to expect from theme parks this year.
Throughout the past few weeks, SeaWorld San Diego offered Zoo Days: Bayside BBQ & Brews to draw guests to the park. Clearly, this event was a success which is why SeaWorld now intends to offer both Halloween and Christmas Events!
According to the OC Register, SeaWorld’s San Diego’s Spooktacular Halloween event is scheduled to run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays beginning October 2nd through November 1st, followed by SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration which will kick off later in November.
Guests attending SeaWorld’s Spooktacular can expect a fall-themed menu with items ranging from candy-corn cotton candy to chocolate-dipped apples. The park will also be decorated with Halloween decor, and guests can participate in activities such as a trick-or-treat candy trail, dance parties, and a pumpkin scavenger hunt!
Guests must make advance reservations for SeaWorld’s Spooktacular and for the park’s upcoming Christmas Celebration online. Spooktacular tickets cost $74 for guests ages 10 and up and $64 for kids ages 3 to 9. Kids under 3 are free! Also, SeaWorld is offering free child admission with any paid adult ticket through November 1st. We’ll keep you updated on any further news from SeaWorld or the California parks!
