NEWS! The CDC Has Reverted to Previous Testing Recommendations After Backlash

Over the past few months, we’ve seen some major changes to the way every day life operates with the “new normal” in and out of theme parks.

Health and Safety Sign

Along with masks and temperature checks being put in place, there have been increased sanitary and health measures at multiple venues and businesses. As borders continue to restrict non-essential travel, theme parks and other industries must consider the best way to protect their employees and guests during this time.

Moving forward, there has been some changes when it comes to quarantining for Florida travelers and other states. However, while the CDC has mandated that many of these new health and safety precautions be applied across the board, there was a lot backlash over the guidelines that “testing might not be necessary.”

Temperature Checks

After considering the public’s reaction and the health of individuals, the CDC has changed its guidelines again according to @ScottGustin.

Previously, the issued guidelines stated that people who didn’t have COVID-19 systems didn’t need to have a test administered, even if they’ve been in close contact with someone who was infected.

However, many individuals who have been treated for these cases have been asymptomatic. In accordance with this knowledge, the CDC has changed its guidelines again to state that people DO need testing if they’ve been in contacted with an infected individual. The language has also been updated to state that people should be quarantined for two weeks while they wait for their test results and afterwards (even if they come back negative).
