We’re always on the lookout for new construction updates at Walt Disney World!

We decided to see how the lions were doing at Kilimanjaro Safaris in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We hopped aboard the truck and began our adventure. Towards the end of our trip, we spotted a NEW structure! What could it be? Let’s get a closer look!
Located near the end of the attraction is a small building with shuttered windows and a door! The little hut is in plain view of guests.

Progress on the building is still underway. There are unfinished cement pallets out front and no grass has been placed around the building. The exterior needs to be finished as well.

It’s still unclear what (or who!) this building is meant for. We spoke to a Cast Member and nothing is confirmed for the building’s use as of now.

The structure is clearly not finished and we’ll continue to come back to see the finished product! We’ll be curious to see if the building is for a new group of animals or merely storage. Stay tuned as we keep an eye on this mysterious new update!
What do you think of the new structure? Let us know in the comments!

Do you think it could be a gigantic dumpster disguised as a shed/shelter? The angled top (Swing-open lid) reminded me of dumpsters I’ve seen and the elevated/small hill behind it would make it easier to dump in debris/compostables from the back of the dumpster.
