Disney+’s High School Musical Series Just Won a GLAAD Award!

After premiering late last year, Disney+‘s shows have already been grabbing some award nominations!

Last week, The Mandalorian nabbed 15 Emmy nominations, and now High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has taken home an award!

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is based off of the High School Musical film series, and features a group of teens and high school staff that decide to perform High School Musical at their school.

Last week, the show took home a GLAAD Award for Outstanding Kids & Family Programming. The GLAAD awards are a huge deal in the LGBTQ community, and winning is an honor. The awards honor media and entertainment branches that showcase the LGBTQ community in an outstanding way.

Tim Federle, the creator of HSMTMTS, congratulated the cast and crew on his Instagram this week, honoring the huge achievement.
