Disney has created Merch Pass a lottery-based system that shopDisney custmers are required to use in order to purchase certain new and popular items. Shoppers must sign up online and can only purchase the items if they are chosen.
The new Arendelle Castle Collection is the first collection that Disney will use to sell with the new system. Merch Pass is now live! If you were looking forward to signing up for the chance to purchase any of the items we now know the full process.
Shoppers will go to the MerchPass sign up page and begin the process here. You must enter the drawing between now and today at 11:59PM PDT. The drawing will be held on July 16th, with entrants notified via e-mail by July 16th at 5:00PM PDT if selected.
You will get to a page that has all the items you would like to purchase and make your choices. You can choose individual items or all of them. Either choice doesn’t affect your chances of being selected.
You are not required to make a purchase upon entry. Nor are you required to purchase the items if you are selected.
Once completed, you will receive an email on July 16th if you were selected. Shoppers have a limited amount of time to complete the purchase. If you do not receive an email that means you were not selected.
This is the first time shopDisney is using MerchPass. We will keep you updated if they continue to use the system and what items they choose to sell!

I signed up for 3 items and won 2 of them.
The only thing MerchPass stopped was us collectors from having a chance to purchase an item. Of course, I didn’t get chosen in the lottery. But if you look on EBay and Mercari, there are hundreds of listings for the Frozen Castle Pin selling at $70-200. Some sellers even have multiple purchases of the pins. How is it that when I wasn’t even chosen to be able to make one purchase of an item? I had a better chance before the lottery. Like the Star Wars release, this was a complete fail. I’m so done with Disney.
