While we have been investigating what is the same and what is different throughout the resorts, we happened to notice something was missing as we checked in to Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort!
We were able to confirm with a Cast Member that the monorail will NOT be running or available for guests until the parks reopen on July 11th. We also spotted the Skyliner on our way onto property this morning, but it does not appear to be in operation at this time.
If you’re looking for complimentary Disney transportation, your only option at this time are the buses, which at this time will just be running from your resort to Disney Springs.

That means that if you would like to travel from one monorail resort to another, your only direct option before the theme parks open is to drive there yourself. This could always change but as of today that is the mode of transportation available!
Be sure to keep following along as we cover our first trip back to the resorts!
Are you staying at a monorail resort BEFORE July 11? Let us know in the comments!

We’re going to arrive this Saturday (6/27) and have Lunch reservations at Sanaa on Sunday and breakfast at Topolino Terrace on Monday . . . so – do you think they’ll allow us to take a Lyft? I just put it in my Lyft app, and it says that a car could be at the Boardwalk to take us in 6 minutes. I know that Minnie Vans won’t be operating, but I’m thinking we’ll be able to jump on an outside rideshare service.
Otherwise I’d be looking a bus with a transfer at Disney Springs?
What about the friendship boats?
Hi Julia! As of now, the boats are also not running. This may change prior to the parks reopening, so we will keep you updated!
