Mickey knows it’s game time!

Several sports commentators and insiders pegged Disney World as an ideal location to play out the rest of the 2019-2020 NBA season. While we don’t yet have official word on if the season will be finished in Disney World, the NBA’s board of governors have agreed on when and how the remaining games will take place.

ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that the NBA has decided to approve the 22-team format to finish the 2019-2020 season in Orlando.

The vote only needed a 3/4ths approval to move forward, so the board was highly receptive to starting the season again. Although there aren’t any details on where the games will be played in Orlando, Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports has been on the radar for some time. The complex has several broadcast-ready arenas and training facilities for players to utilize.

While the Playoffs are in progress starting July 31st, the board also agreed to an August 25th draft lottery. The actual draft would be three days after the last possible day for the Playoffs (so Game 7, if there was a necessity for one). October 15th would be date for the draft.

These are the NBA teams that will be heading to Orlando based on the fact they were within six games of a playoff berth on March 11th.

The season will run for 88 games with 8 games per team. There could possibly be up to four playoff play-in games before the postseason as well. At this time, the National Basketball Players Association will be reviewing the case on Friday, as the plan will need their approval to move forward.
