It looks like the technical difficulties continue for Disney merchandise releases!

As Disney merchandise fans may know, the Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction Collection has been super popular! A new line of items inspired by a popular Disney attraction is released on the third Saturday of each month. And it looks like technical difficulties have caused headaches for some shoppers.
This month’s Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction Collection is inspired by the Enchanted Tiki Room. The items were released on shopDisney earlier this morning, and the website used a new virtual queue system that allowed for ten minutes to shop once it’s your turn in line.

And, as we’ve seen with previous popular releases, the website experienced some technical difficulties. According to Disney, the issues were due to the high demand on the site.

Members of our team tested out the virtual queue, and while we did experience a few glitches, most of us were able to resolve them by refreshing the page. But, another member of our team was in the virtual queue for over an hour with no progress.
So, overall, the technical difficulties we experienced weren’t as extreme as we’ve seen with previous releases, like the May the 4th merchandise. Disney has since released an update saying the issue has been resolved, so be sure to share your experience if you attempted to join the virtual queue!

This isn’t the only time shopDisney has had problems. On May 4th, when they release a host of Star Wars themed merchandise, it also experienced difficulties. I know personally, I added some items to the cart, but when I went to check out, I was bounced out unceremoniously with all work lost. I love Disney, but you would think as technologically advanced as they are, they wold pay more attention to their website.
Got in the queue right away at 8:55 cst but the Tiki items didn’t appear until 9:07 on my screen. Everything was sold out except the mug. Kept going back to the items and refreshing. Some let me put in cart but couldn’t check out. Finally at 10:18 I was able to get the pins and plush and checkout no problems. Another issue is why doesn’t the system tell you which items is not available instead of having you guess and might lose out on others? Unless I’m doing it wrong?? And how do people get it so fast mega speed internet?
I had a similar experience to those shared – got in to the virtual queue and actually had the ears in my cart at 10:01am but tried for over an hour to actually check out with no luck. It was better than last month tho, I guess – last month was very similar but their system completely crashed my credit card (I actually got all they way to that step last month!) and then had to spend 2 1/2 hours on the phone with my bank trying to get my card reactivated ?. Worse yet, the April launch was on my birthday and I was really looking forward to them as a special way to celebrate. Oh well. Guess I’m the end this month wasn’t nearly as bad, right?!?! ? Congrats to everybody who got to purchase stuff – please share your secrets!❤️
After waiting and finally getting in it would not
let me check out. I tried for 2 hours. Only got the mug. Same thing with my friends. Won’t let you check out. Why not just make more instead so we call can buy one. eBay selling backpacks for 300 and ears for 2. Disney should care more about us
I love the Enchanted Tiki Room and had been looking forward to this release for months. Started logging on with 4 different devices 23 minutes prior to the launch, yet came away empty handed. Even prior to launch, you could reserve items on eBay for $100+. I think we were able to access the virtual queue on all but the phone, though it didn’t help. At 1 minute til, I saw the ears pop up, clicked on them at least 3 times, getting a Wreck-It Ralph error page until 3 minutes after launch time, when they showed as sold out. We had the pins and backpack in our bag, but it wouldn’t let us click on check out. When my husband tried to check out with the pins, the blue circle spun until it kicked him back to the queue. The blue circle spun on my phone for 4 hours before it finally told me the pins were sold out. I give up. Guess I am not meant to order any of the special release items from home.
I was in the virtual room at midnight Australia got in straight away placed my Minnie Mouse in the bag went to pay and that’s as far as I got I spent till 1.30 am pressing to pay now then it tells me I’ve taken too long and the item is no longer in my bag. So do they still have stock to offer us
I put an alarm on my calendar last month when I first heard the Tiki room backpack would be released. I was so excited and foolishly hopeful. I waited in the virtual queue for 30 minutes before it went on sale. The anticipation was crazy! When it was my turn I immediately put the backpack in my cart and tried to check out. Everything froze and I kept trying over and over to check out. After a couple minutes it said it was sold out. Just so disappointed. There’s got to be a better way, Disney…. 🙁
