20th Century Studio’s ‘The New Mutants’ Gets a New Release Date!

Due to the current global health crisis, Hollywood studios were forced to delay a variety of films originally scheduled for theatrical release this spring and early summer.

One of those films was 20th Century Studio long-delayed The New Mutants, which has now been given another theatrical premiere date for later this year!According to The Hollywood Reporter, The New Mutants is now set for an August 28th, 2020 theatrical release.

Based on Marvel Comic’s New Mutants, the film has been plagued with a plethora of delays. Originally scheduled for April 2018, the film was delayed for reshoots. From there, 20th Century Fox was bought by Disney, and the film was thought to be cancelled in an effort to bring all the Marvel characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

However, the film was then given a release date of April 3rd, 2020, which was subsequently delayed yet again by the current global health crisis. You can check out a trailer for the film below!
