As restaurants and shops are able to re-open in the state of Florida at a reduced capacity, local shopping and dining districts are beginning to resume limited business operations. Last week, we learned that Disney Springs will begin a partial reopening on May 20th, with select third-party retailers and restaurants in operation.

Today, we have learned that Universal Orlando Resort is following suit, but will be re-opening even sooner, and with additional health and safety protocols, including temperature screenings.
CityWalk, the main shopping and dining district at Universal Orlando Resort, will re-open with limited operations starting this Thursday, May 14th.

On Universal’s website, it states that select venues will be open from 4PM to 10PM daily. At this time, self-parking will be complimentary but valet will not be available. The following vendors will take part in this initial reopening:
Full-service restaurants and quick-service food locations:
- Auntie Anne’s Pretzels
- Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.™ Restaurant and Market
- Jimmy Buffett’s® Margaritaville® (outside & Lone Palm)
- Red Oven Pizza Bakery™ mobile ordering available
- Voodoo Doughnut mobile ordering available
Shopping venues:
- Airbrush
- Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company® (retail only)
- Universal Studios Store™ and select merchandise carts
Entertainment venue:
- Hollywood Drive-In Golf™
For all guests and Team Members, both the use of face masks AND temperature checks will be required in order to enter City Walk. The guideline states that “guests with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or greater will not be admitted.” This temperature guideline applies to Team Members as well.

Universal noted on their site that, “If a guest does not have a face covering, we will provide a complimentary disposable one for use during their visit. We will also have face coverings available for purchase.” Universal’s website also states that the parks continue to remain closed until at least May 31st.
Will you visit CityWalk when it re-opens this Thursday? Let us know in the comments.
