The NBA has been facing the possibility of canceling the rest of the season in the wake of the global health crisis and the prohibition of mass gatherings. However, one location has been pointed out in the past by sports commentators as a perfect site to host the remainder of the season: Disney World!

The idea seems to be potential be gaining traction, as another NBA insider discussed the possibility of using the resort to host the remainder of the season.
Shams Charania, a senior lead insider, writer, and analyst for The Athletic and Stadium, tweeted on the subject.

He continued in a report to say that, according to his sources, Disney has put out an offer to the NBA.

According to the post, it sounds like the NBA may be considering using Disney World to host the remainder of the season. While nothing has been confirmed, and other sites are being considering, it makes a lot of sense in that the resort has all of the necessary facilities for games and for players to stay at.
The post also states that a caveat for finishing the season is the safety of the league and players. Disney World is a very secluded area and would ensure that teams don’t come into close contact with anyone besides each other.

Disney already has a pretty good relationship with the NBA through their ESPN and ABC divisions and the NBA Experience at Disney Springs. It’s not a stretch that the two could come to some sort of agreement to finish the current basketball season, but we’ll have to wait for official word from either Disney or the NBA.
