This week we saw the new federal guidelines aimed at helping businesses across the nation open in phases.
We also saw Florida’s governor open certain beaches back up to the public; however, it looks like Florida schools aren’t nearing reopening.
The schools were originally scheduled to remain closed through April, but in a press conference this afternoon, Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, announced that the state’s schools would remain closed for the duration of the academic year.
According to DeSantis and Click Orlando, “given where they are in the school year and the ongoing pandemic, he believes continuing distance learning for now is the best option.”
Orange County Public Schools had scheduled their last day of school for May 27th, but students will continue schooling via distance learning until then. We will keep you updated as we learn more!
