Because of the current global health crisis, Disney has had to reevaluate its release schedule for films that were supposed to come out in theaters this year.
We’ve known for a little bit that Disney’s upcoming adaptation of Artemis Fowl would be getting sent straight to Disney+ without a theatrical release, but now we know exactly when we’ll be able to start streaming the new film.
The movie was originally intended to debut in theaters on May 29th, 2020, but it will instead premiere on Disney+ on June 12th. The film is based on the book series by Eoin Colfer centered around 12-year old genius and criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl as he battles a powerful race of fairies who might have something to do with the disappearance of his dad.

The film stars Ferdia Shaw as the titular character along with Lara McDonnell, Josh Gad, Tamara Smart, Noso Anozie Judi Dench, and Colin Farrell.
