NEWS: Tokyo Disney Resort Extends Closure and Announces Temporary Closure of Resort Hotels

In February, Tokyo Disney Resort initially announced they would be temporarily closing through March 15th in response to global health crisis. They followed this up in mid-March by issuing another extension to their closing.

Now, the park has announced that they will be extending the closure further, along with their hotels.

According to the Tokyo Disney Resort website, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea’s closures have been extended through April 19th, with with a reopening planned for “April 20 or beyond, for which a new announcement will be sent out.”

Additionally, the website states the the the new Fantasyland area of Tokyo Disneyland (which includes the new Beauty and the Beast ride) will be postponed from its original April 15th date to “mid-May or beyond.”

Up until now, the Tokyo Disney Resort Hotels had remained open, instead operating with modified offerings. Now, however, Tokyo Disney has announced that they will also be temporarily closing through the same time frame.

In their statement, Tokyo Disney confirmed that no cancellation fee will be charged for reservations with check-in dates between February 29th and May 31st, 2020. For those with reservations affected by the closure extension, you can learn more by visiting the Tokyo Disney Resort website
