In the midst of Disney Park and resorts closing due to the coronavirus outbreak, Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa in Hawaii has continued to remained open.
Although we saw the additional precautions and partial closures they put into place, it appears the resort has decided to close along with all other Disney resorts.
Aulani has announced that it will be closed on March 24th at 5 PM through March 31st, 2020.
Resort guests with arrivals from March 24th through March 31st can call Aulani at (866) 443-4763 or visit the website to reschedule their reservations. Aulani is waiving the $50 change fee and Disney cancellation fees for guests with arrivals through June 30th. Room only reservations booked through Disney will be automatically cancelled, but any guests with Aulani Resort hotel packages will need to call in to reschedule or cancel.
Disney Vacation Club members’ plans will automatically be cancelled if their arrival falls during the closure dates. The DVC points will return to the guest’s current Use Year and will not be placed into holding.

We have guests arriving on 04/01/20. DVC has not allowed us to cancel the reservation without having our points go into the holding account. It seems very unlikely that this resort will reopen on 04/01/20. I’m not sure why they won’t allow our points to go back into the use years. No way people will be traveling by 04/01! Hoping this changes prior to 03/31/20.
