Is living really worth dying for? That’s the question that Disney and Pixar are asking this June with Soul, a surreal exploration into the world beyond… and before.

Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx) is a middle-school band teacher about to have his big break, when an unexpected accident ejects his soul from his body and sends him on a cosmic journey to discover how life is truly worth living. We’ve got the newest trailer below the cut!

After trying to escape being sent to the Great Beyond, Joe ends up in the Great Before, where souls are given their personalities and quirks before being born. There, he meets 22 (Tina Fey), a soul who doesn’t see the point of living and refuses to be born. The movie invokes some of the most surreal pieces of Disney animation, with abstract character designs and surreal landscapes.

Will Joe make it back to his body to achieve his dream? Will 22 find that life is worth living? We’ll find out on June 19th, when Soul opens in theaters everywhere!
