Disney’s Baby Yoda Toy Shipments Could Be Delayed by Coronavirus

The coronavirus has been the subject on several people’s minds the last few months and many people have been affected by it in some way. Industries producing goods in China have been hit by travel restrictions and quarantine, including the toy industry.

With a bulk of toy production done in China, it is feared that toy companies might struggle to fulfill orders and there might be massive delays. What does that mean for us? Will we have to wait for our Baby Yoda toys?

Delays in production and receiving raw materials used in toy production could cause delays in anticipated toys like Baby Yoda (The Child) from The Mandalorian.

Hasbro, one of the companies putting out Baby Yoda products, has acknowledged that travel restrictions and quarantine orders have already caused delays in toy production at their partner factories. In a recent regulatory filing, they stated that production shutdowns due to the coronavirus “could have a significant negative impact on our revenues, profitability, and business.”

Disney also released a statement to CNN Business that the Hasbro, Funko, Mattel, and Build-A-Bear products featuring Baby Yoda are scheduled to start hitting shelves by the end of March. The pre-orders for many of the items have already sold out on shopDisney.
