Oh, Walt Disney World, while you might be the Most Magical Place on Earth, you can also sometimes be the hottest. (Okay, not literally, but boy, it feels like it with that humidity!)

We’ve all been there: halfway through a magical day, when you just feel like you can’t take the heat of the Orlando sun a second longer. For times like these, you need to know the best rides to hop on in order to sit back, relax, and cool off!
We’re looking at the best rides at Walt Disney World to relax and cool off!
Spaceship Earth
Take a (very relaxing) journey back through time with Spaceship Earth in Epcot! The iconic attraction is a slow-moving ride that is low-lit and calming — so, of course, it has to be on our list!

One other big note here is that Spaceship Earth rarely has a particularly long line, so when you need a quick way to get off your feet, don’t expect to have to wait too long to jump in your time-vehicle! (The exceptions: first thing in the morning, you might find a long line as people immediately get in the queue after entering the park!)

Living with the Land
Continuing our list with another relaxing pick in Epcot! The boat ride Living with the Land takes you on a tour of various greenhouses, labs, and an Aquacell.

While some parts of the ride are cooler than others (it does heavily feature greenhouses, after all), the lull of the boat, and the interesting subject will have you calmer and cooler in no time at all!

Pirates of the Caribbean
Alright, going from a very slow boat ride to one that’s slightly more active! Pirates of the Caribbean is not only one of the most iconic rides in Magic Kingdom, but it’s also one of the best to cool down on!

Aside from a moderately-sized drop, the ride is fairly slow-moving, taking you along a boat ride filled with songs, amazing animatronics, and an overall incredible atmosphere. While the line can get long compared to a lot of other picks on this list, the queue is also indoors and air-conditioned — score!

Gran Fiesta Tour
Gran Fiesta Tour is located in the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot, taking you on a boat cruise starring none other than the Three Caballeros! The gentle journey is a musical boat tour that sees guests helping Panchito Pistoles and José Carioca track down Donald Duck in Mexico.

The journey is a fun, colorful ride that’s easy to sit back on and truly unwind. The AC is pumpin’ in the building, so this is a boat journey that will definitely refresh you and get you ready to continue on with your Disney day! And if you still need more time to cool off, the pavilion’s indoor shopping “Plaza” is fabulous, too.

Journey of the Little Mermaid
Take an Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid with this fun ride in Magic Kingdom! The omnimover ride takes you on a journey “under the sea”, filled with audio animatronics of the iconic characters and scenes from The Little Mermaid.

Most importantly for this list, the line is mostly indoors and air-conditioned, and the ride itself is a great way to unwind!

Na’vi River Journey
Located in Animal Kingdom, Na’vi River Journey takes you on a bioluminescent boat ride through the world of Pandora (that’s right — another boat ride!). The lull of the boat and stunning lights not only make this an incredible ride, but also one that will instantly calm you.

One note on this one is that the average wait time is longer than most of our other picks on the list, so if you need a quick attraction to hop on to, this might not be your top pick. However, if you are able to ride it, you’ll find yourself both relaxed and wowed! The queue is mostly covered and cooled, and there’s a bottle refill station mid-queue, so you can hydrate, too!

Splash Mountain
Okay, so we might be cheating by calling this one relaxing Splash Mountain, per se. But, hear us out! While might be filled with plenty of hills and, well, one giant mountain of a drop, it’s also one of the most surefire ways to cool off in the entire Magic Kingdom!

The famous line here is key — you may (likely will) get wet! Splash Mountain takes its title seriously, leaving guests soaked after a trip down the mountain. While this pick might have the heaviest amount of thrill on our list, it also leaves the most lasting cool, as you’ll get AC in the line and a very refreshing splash at the end!
