President of Production at Disney’s 20th Century Studios Has Resigned

A few weeks after we reported that 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight Pictures had dropped “Fox” from their titles following Disney’s acquisition, there’s been another change-up over at 20th Century Studios.

According to Variety, Emma Watts, President of Production at 20th Century Studios, has officially resigned from her post.

Emma Watts, who remained with the studio after its purchase by Disney last year, is an industry veteran with over two decades at the studio. Her creative team will remain in place. Reports indicate the departure was voluntary on Watts’s part.

Watts, whose previous productions include Night at the Museum, Deadpool, and Oscar nominee Ford V. Ferrari, will be leaving behind projects such as James Cameron’s Avatar trilogy, video game comedy Free Guy, and the upcoming The Call of the Wild. Watts’s replacement has not been announced.
