It seems like every morning won’t be just the same at Epcot‘s France Pavilion, starting on January 17th. That’s when the Palais du Cinéma reopens with the new Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along and the beloved Impressions de France.

We previously believed that the two shows would alternate, but it seems Disney has gone for an alternate schedule… one that bodes ill for Impressions.
According to showtimes posted for Impressions on DisneyWorld.com, the long-running show will be playing from just 7:30PM to Park close when the Sing Along begins on Friday.

The Sing-Along is expected to run from World Showcase open (11AM) until sometime in the evening, but Disney hasn’t released an official schedule. This means the more family oriented performance will take precedence during the day, when families are more active in the Park, while the more adult-oriented Impressions will be targeted more toward older guests who might frequent World Showcase after the sun goes down.
Unfortunately for Impressions fans, this leaves you an hour and a half window to watch the film on a typical evening, while Beauty and the Beast will run for, it’s expected, about eight hours a day. Disappointing for fans of the opening day attraction, to be sure.
You’ll be able to catch both films starting January 17.
Are you looking forward to the Sing Along? Will you carve out time for Impressions, too? Let us know in the comments.

….and the transformation of EPCOT from educational and cultural park to a kiddie character park IS moving right along as scheduled. Dumbing down visitors one attraction at at time.
I agree completely. Impressions de France is the BEST film at EPCOT. The people who plan the park attractions have really lost their minds. Walt Disney is probably spinning in his grave.
Impressions de France is my favorite of the Epcot movies.
