Well, we are pleased to share an comprehensive first look at what’s coming to Disney+ in 2020, including blockbuster films, new originals, and a whole lot more!

…and yes, more Baby Yoda.

Original Series!

Let’s start our coming attractions with a peek at some new original series! First… The Mandalorian is coming back this Fall!

If that’s not enough, there are also some high-profile series coming to the platform!

Hilary Duff returns as Lizzie McGuire in this revival of the hit Disney Channel Original Series. Now a thirty-year-old interior designer in New York, Lizzie and her inner cartoon alter-ego have traded the trials and tribulations of middle school for the struggles of modern adult life. Much of the original cast is returning, and Duff is even taking center stage as an executive producer! We can only hope they bring the theme song back, too.

Superhero fans have a ton to look forward to, as two new series set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are coming to Disney+!

First is The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Following the events of Avengers:  Endgame, Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes struggle to fill the shoes of the legendary Captain America while dealing with the return of Baron Zemo. Meanwhile, the US Government has created a new version of the Super Soldier Serum and empowered a soldier named John Walker with the powers of Captain America… but will this militaristic new super soldier uphold the Captain’s ideals, or serve as a twisted parody of the First Avenger?

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan return as Falcon and the Winter Soldier in this new series by Karl Skogland, coming to Disney+ later this year.

Next on the docket is WandaVision, featuring Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch) and Vision. Vision, the super powered android created using the Mind Stone, has been dead since Avengers: Infinity War, but now seems to be living with Wanda in an idyllic 1950s style household. How mysterious… maybe the fact that Wanda is a reality warper in the comics has something to do with that.

Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany return as the superpowered couple, along with Kat Dennings (Thor, Thor: The Dark World), Randall Park (Ant Man and the Wasp), Teyonah Parris (Mad Men), and Kathryn Hahn (Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse). Matt Shakman directs, while Jack Chaeffer offers a sitcom-style look into the world of Marvel.

Fans of The Muppets can look forward to the new unscripted series Muppets Now, featuring improvised skits with celebrity guest stars! ILM veteran Kirk Thatcher (chief writer of Dinosaurs and Muppet Treasure Island) directs.

It’s good to have you back, guys.

Fans of Star Wars who don’t want to wait for season 2 of The Mandalorian can rejoice because the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is coming to Disney+!

This final season focuses on the Siege of Mandalore, a massive part of The Mandalorian’s backstory. It’ll also see the return of classic characters like Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker. Until it drops, you can enjoy the entirety of The Clone Wars, as well as the sequel series Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars: Resistance on Disney+!

This next series sounds like it could be Star Wars, but it’s not. 😉 Rogue Trip is a documentary series following Bob Woodruff and his 27-year-old son Mack as they give Disneyland a pass and explore places the average tourist would never think to visit.

And Becoming looks into the origin stories of world-class celebrities like Lebron James, Candace Parker, and Nick Cannon. James is the lead producer.

Other originals coming to the platform include Diary of a Future President and the second season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Another novel adaptation coming in 2020: Stargirl, based on the novel by Jerry Spinelli. Telling a touching tale of nonconformity and being true to one’s self, the film will star Grace VanderWaal (of America’s Got Talent fame) as the titular Stargirl, and Graham Verchere as Leo Borlock. Julia Hart directs.

The Phineas and Ferb Movie: Candace Against the Universe revives the classic Disney Channel series. Phineas and Ferb have to travel across the galaxy in pursuit of their sister Candace, who has been abducted to a paradise free of little brothers… but will she want to return?

Secret Society of Second-Born Royals puts a new spin on the term “Disney Princess”. Sam (Peyton Elizabeth Lee, of Andi Mack fame) is the rebellious princess of the kingdom of Illyria, second in line to the throne. Unsatisfied with royal life, she soon discovers she has superpowers and becomes entangled in a top-secret society dedicated to saving the world!
