Walkway Between Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort Has Re-Opened

Traveling on foot just got a little easier at Walt Disney World for guests of Disney’s Contemporary Resort!

We’ve been waiting patiently for updates to an important walkway between Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and it’s finally open!

The pathway is located to the left as guests exit Magic Kingdom and past the bus stop at the Contemporary. We checked out the changes earlier today.

The walkway is still a work in progress, so one side of the path is lined with green construction fencing. The other side is lined with concrete barriers to protect the pathway from the street. There’s lots of pine straw to cover the ground between the walkway and the fencing.

There are also some temporary (we assume) metal gates still up along the way.

You’ll be able to spot some of the “Walk Around the World” bricks still in place on the Magic Kingdom end of the walkway. The pathway removed many of these, but at this point some of the bricks remain. (Click here for a refresher on the loss of many of these bricks.)

Overall, the path is looking pretty nice, and we’re glad it’s open so that we can get to and from Magic Kingdom a little bit easier when we’re at the Contemporary!
