When you visit Animal Kingdom this holiday season you’ll get to see the entire park decorated for the season with all new decor. We’ve just learned there’s a special reason you should take a few minutes to admire one aspect of the new decor.

On Discovery Island you’ll find garland that is accented with some special snowflakes, and no they aren’t special because they are snowflakes in Florida.
These intricate snowflakes were crafted by Augusta Training Shop employees in Georgia.

The Augusta Training Shop was founded in 1947 and gives adults ages 18 to 79 with various disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, MR, deafness, and blindness skills, employment, and an artistic outlet.

If you are working on a shopping list we have good news — you can order from a wide assortment of snowflake designs from the Augusta Training Shop’s website! You can also order from an assortment of crosses and ornaments on the website.

Beautiful! Do they also sell them at AK?
Debbie, we haven’t seen them. Let me have a team member specifically look around.
The snowflakes made by this group of talented individuals are simply beautiful! What a nice touch, Animal Kingdom! After reading about this not for profit group, I was inspired to purchase a snowflake. So many amazing choices, such delicate and intricate work. Thank you, Allears! And bravo to the artists!
That is wonderful. I wish I could come see them.
