Starting today, you will see plant-based dining options at every table-service and most quick-service restaurants in Disney World. In addition, you will start to see a new leaf symbol on menus indicating the item is plant-based.

Every item with the leaf symbol is made with plant-based ingredients including vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes. You won’t find animal meat, dairy, eggs, or honey in these items.
This morning Disney launched a new website that lets you see the plant-based options in every theme park and resort, water park, Disney Springs, and the Boardwalk entertainment district.
Visit www.disneyworld.com/plantbased.com to check the website out and explore all of the options.

We attended a preview this morning that included sample of some of the new items.

Let’s take a look at some of the items we tried.
Magic Kingdom’s Crystal Palace
We tried a few items from Crystal Palace, and were surprised to see a cottage pie on the plant-based menu. The Crystal Palace offers several plant-based items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Tree Tavern
Finish off your plant-based meal in Liberty Square with this All-American cinnamon spice cake!

Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella’s Royal Table
We were pleasantly surprised at how many of the items that are usually associated with dairy or eggs, such as this coffee pot-de-creme, were available as plant-based items.

Magic Kingdom’s Tony’s Town Square
Look for these un-meatballs on the menu at Tony’s Town Square served with spaghetti.

Magic Kingdom’s Casey’s Corner
Our sample of a quick service item included the plant-based slaw dog at Casey’s Corner

As we mentioned, the resorts are getting in on the plant-based action too. We tried The Contemporary’s Wave…of American Flavors plant-based chocolate hazelnut babka.

Expect to find a few plant-based grab-and-go options as well such as the soy and almond milk yogurt.

After our preview we spotted the Plant-Based leaf pop up on menus already. The icon is expected to be on the menus for the next Epcot festival as well (replacing the “v” currently on menus representing vegetarian). Look at that — the fun FOMOsa at Sunshine Tree Terrace is plant-based!

Overall, we enjoyed all of the plant-based items we tried today. There were some pleasant surprises, such as how creamy items could be with zero dairy in them. Some items had different textures than we are used to, but that didn’t interfere with the taste. We think our vegetarian, vegan, and plant-based diet friends will enjoy the range of options now available as well as the taste!

I wonder if they post if the plant based items include nuts or seeds. I try to eat on the healthy side ( try being the operative word) but having an allergy to nuts & seeds can make it hard. Has anyone seen these items & how they are listed ?
