Disney World hosts a lot of sporting events at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex each year.

From cheerleading competitions to baseball training camps, there’s almost always something fun happening over there. Disney also has a very strong and lasting relationship with the Special Olympics.
And Disney has just announced that Walt Disney World will be the host of the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games!
For the very first time in the history of the games, athletes were asked to create the logo. Nine athletes helped contribute to the design, which you can view below.

This event will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics Florida.
Disney also likes to point out that an “event of this scale happens because of thousands of dedicated volunteers, which is why Disney is also proud to be the Presenting Partner of the 2022 USA Games Volunteer Program.”
Even though 2022 seems a long way off, we’re excited to see that this event will take place at Walt Disney World! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

I think this is a wonderful location for the Special Olympics. What joy for the participants and the families to be able to participate and spend some time in the parks as well. Just for those who want specific dates the website says June 5-11 2022.
