Know Before You Go to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge finally opens on May 31 in Disneyland. To get you better prepared, Disney has released another edition of its “Know Before You Go” videos.

We thought we’d get you all caught up on everything you need to know about before you travel at lightspeed to a galaxy far, far away.

Remember, you will need a reservation to access Galaxy’s Edge from May 31 to June 23 at the Disneyland Resort — read more about that here. Unfortunately, all general reservations are booked, so the only way to snag one is by staying at a Disneyland hotel. Then, Disney will give you a reservation with a time slot to access Galaxy’s Edge during your visit.

If you already have a reservation and are packing up all of your best Star Wars gear, remember to bring all of your reservation info. This includes your QR code and a government-issued ID for all of the adults in your party. This will make the check-in process much smoother.

And speaking of check-in, those with a reservation will be able to check in two hours before their time slot at Star Wars Launch Bay.

Also, don’t forget that there is no need to arrive crazy early with the reservation system is in place. There will not be any sort of standby line, because everyone will be able to enter at their allotted time.

If you are unable to get a reservation to the land, but are still looking to get Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opening day merchandise, remember that there will be locations around Disneyland selling it. Read more about that here.

The parking lot will be opening for those looking to buy Galaxy’s Edge merchandise at midnight. BUT the earliest you can line up will be 2 a.m. Note that Disney has said there will not be anything big opening surprise during this moment.

When it comes to dressing up, remember that costumes cannot be worn into the park by anyone over the age of 14. Disney does encourage Disney-bounding, so get creative!

Are you beyond excited over this new land? I know we are! And remember, if you’re heading to Florida to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios, that land does not open until August 29.
