Animal Kingdom’s Rafiki’s Planet Watch to Reopen this Summer

When Animal Kingdom‘s Rafiki’s Planet Watch was closed last year there was a collective sigh of relief when Disney announced it would re-open as Rafiki’s Planet Watch. We have just learned when this popular attraction will re-open.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch, the Affection Section and the Wildlife Express will reopen this summer — with some additions.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch will still include animal encounters, but now it will also include experiences drawing from Disney’s heritage of wildlife animation plus a celebration of The Lion King.

  1. In all of my 30 trips to WDW I have never taken the time to visit Planet Watch. I don’t really know why. I think it’s because I’ve only ever heard that there wasn’t much over there and waiting in line both to go and return sounded daunting after all that walking in such a large park.
