Disney Pic of the Week: Technology

Deb's Digest Blog

How about some old legacy technology. These two photos (and information) are taken from the May 1982 issue of WED-MAPO News. The big story in the news was new technology for technical publications.

“We are very happy that management has allowed us to have these electronic tools to enable us to more efficiently handle the work load for Epcot Center and Tokyo Disneyland”. (Department Manager Monte Hoult)

The first photo is The Compugraphic Modular Composition System (MCS).

Contributing greatly to the increased productivity are two items. 1) The new Advanced Communications Interface (ACI) a link between the Wang Word Process Terminals and the Compugraphics Typeset System and 2) the PHONE MODEM!

This photo is of a Wang Word Processing Terminal.
