I do not know about you but when I go to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Flordia, in December, I am hoping for warm weather. I certainly want to get away from the cold, snow and ice of upstate New York where I live. So, I found it ironic a few years ago when Deb Wills, founder of AllEars.net, invited us to see the show ICE at the Gayloard Plams resort. We had to put on heavy parkas as it was below freezing in the display rooms. Intrepid photobloggers as Barrie, Lisa and I are, we took our cameras in and photographed the colorful ice sculptures braving the cold man-made elements.
Above is Barrie zeroing on a detail shot of one of the ice sculptures for my Disney Pic of Week on A Day in the Life.
We visited Disney World this past December and hoped for warm weather. We ended up wearing coats, hats, gloves etc. for our entire trip. It did make the magic of snow on Main Street and during the Osborne Light show a little more Christmasy, but it was freezing!!
Scott replies: December and January are tricky months in central Florida. It can get chilly with large extremes in temperature which makes is seem even colder.
Scott,
You must miss me so much that you envisioned me at ICE. I left after dinner.
Scott replies: But they don’t know that, Lisa. 🙂
ice at gaylord palms is so COOL pun intended.
Scott replies: Groan!!!!
